In general, if the business is set up correctly, it runs itself as a nice side hustle, making it so you don't have to give up your day job. As a long term plan, it makes a great retirement planning vehicle. It's also a great way to pass on generational wealth: purchase investment property for each child and when they are old enough, make them do the work.

Ideally, month to month, there should be very little effort required and the business should basically run itself.

The bottom line: my friends who own property are better off financially than those who don't.
