Here is a list of some important notice periods which may be required by law:
- In the case of Domestic Violence: to end a residential tenancy agreement early requires at least 28 days notice from a tenant to break the agreement
- Fixed Term Lease: 45 days notice (verbal and written if you don't intend to renew their lease)
- Fixed Term Lease: 45-90 days notice to renew. Meet 30 days in advance to sign copy of the renewal.
- Fixed Term Lease - Rent Increase: 90 Days notice.
- Periodic Lease: 1 month notice to end lease from a tenant
- Periodic Lease: 3 month notice to end lease from landlord (date of the month conditions apply)
- Periodic lease with NO breach: notice period conditions vary
- Periodic Lease - Rent Increase: 3 month notice
